Ori Marani Nino 2018

Extrabrut.dk (23.10.2019)
Yihaa!

Nino is a Non Vintage sparkling wine made according to the traditional method used in Champagne.
When a vintage wine is highlighting the differences between each vintages, a Non Vintage wine recreate every year a same style and profile.
To do so, a reserve wine program using a solera system was created at the fundation of Ori Marani. This Solera is kept in Qvevri giving to the reserve wine a singular Georgian identity.
The blend changes every year in order to aim Nino's specific stylistic profile.
However, Tsitka, Chinuri and Goruli Mstvane and a maximum of 20% Solera reserve wine will be part of the final blend.
Nino is a Brut Nature, which means that at disgorgement zero sugar was added in order to keep the purity of the wine.

All the grapes used for our sparkling wines are coming either from Imereti or Shida Karlti regions. Indeed, those 2 regions allows grapes to mature slowly under cool climatics conditions allowing the grapes to gain richness without loosing freshness.
Shida Kartli's soil made of limestone gives to our wines minerality and Imeretian clay confers power and richness.
Our Sparkling wines are made according to the traditional method used in Champagne.
However all our wines are fermented on their indigenous yeast without any interventions that could compromise the authencity of the wines.
Wines are fermented and aged on lees in Qvevri or old french oak barrels coming from Champagne Egly-Ouriet and Burgundian Domaine Prieuré Roch, Domaine Hubert Lamy, Domaine de Villaine among others 2017 was the first harvest of Ori Marani, therefore our first sparkling wines cuvées won't be released before late 2019.
